China Fashion Has Men’s Wear

Known as the second largest capital of the world, Beijing boasts of a booming economy and modern-type architecture. But, one engaging characteristic of the city is its fusion of old and new with as they preserve their national heritage. While the city enjoys the majestic architecture of the National Center for the Performing Arts and nicely-designed buildings in Zhongguancun among others, the city is also home to the world-famous Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

Another addition to the city’s wonders is the ongoing China Fashion Week. With its good economy, plus great sceneries, fashion is trailing not far behind. The China Fashion Week showcases talented designers who offer the newest glam and designs for locals and tourists alike. With more than 17 million people living in the city plus visitors coming from all over the world, expect a variety in fashion and the trendsetters.

The China Fashion Week offers its newest collection in men’s wear, contrary to last year’s event. This year, Wang Qing, Chairman of China Fashion Week, shares that they will encourage more designers to focus more on making men’s wear their priority. The theme for this year is “Urban Dreams” and is composed of three different concepts. Stylishly-designed collections are “City Poet”, “Aviation Legend” and “Architectural Technology”. The focal point of the designs lies in blending trend colors with mellow and warm colors that are reflected in carefully selected textures and fabrics. The designs are sure to win urban elites who are always in with the changing challenges and the newest trends.

Known designer Cabeen shares that the secret lies with the shimmer and sheen in texture and that it is what semitransparent architecture means. Featured designs are expected to make wave in come spring and summer of 2010.

The newly-found niche in men’s fashion has stirred several questions. Does this means the revival of Chinese men’s fashion? History shows that traditional Chinese back then wore Han Chinese clothing or hanfu. Then it became changsan or qipao. And as the world of fashion became more interconnected and the East meets West theme came about, fashion evolved much more. This week’s fashion show shows that the necktie took a great part with the designs. This piece of clothing proved to be versatile as it transformed plain-looking clothes into trendy and fashionable wear.

Mens’ necktie is considered a basic part of men’s clothing. Have that quality necktie on your neck and walk around with confidence – be it on the runway or the busy streets.
